Indie creators shouldn’t have to turn into emotionless cryptids that appear once in a blue moon to share their works and otherwise have no online presence in order to survive *checks notes* creating a popular cartoon. But I don’t know how else they’re supposed to navigate this bullshit.

I do not need expensive legacy sequels and reboots for my favorite series. Just do what manga authors do and draw the characters just kinda hanging out every few years. That will suffice.
I get so mad when I see older films get the life sucked out of them for the sake of making them seem more modern. I WANT the rougher texture and the original artistic intent! It's PART of it! Also, this is subjective but: why do so many attempts to modernize something make it look like shit?

Whenever someone says "My kid won't watch anything made before the year 2000" I always feel like "Well did you ever show them anything from before then as they aged or did you just show them whatever the newest thing was and let an algorithm choose the rest?" and 9/10 times I know the answer.
Zaki Hasan@zakiscorner.bsky.social · 3mo agoMan, this is such a nihilistic take. Forget Lord of the Rings. My kids have watched The Wizard of Oz. The Godfather. Planet of the Apes. TONS of classics that are quite a bit older than 30 years, and they’ve enjoyed and appreciated them all.
I hope you’re all seeing the way the gacha fandom is trying to discredit Ironmouse’s major concerns about both genAI and being lied to by a gacha company by saying “performative” and “how do we know they lied” It is much the same as when the fandom dismissed the strike efforts of VAs last year.
