Saw The Odyssey last night -- yup, it is a success, with innumerable moments throughout that are going to stick with me. Vistas. Body horror. Creatures. THE SOUNDS. The domestic cattle, pigs and dogs were all out of time and place but I will learn to live with it. And those pigs were all female.

I think a lot of people struggle to accept how far they are from being a trained expert and genuinely believe that four YouTube videos and two late night tiktok rabbit holes are enough to make them equivalent to one. And then they take any implications to the contrary as someone calling them stupid.

I'm constantly trying (/failing) to get this point across. If you're a trained expert in a field, then it may be worthwhile to question the scientific consensus of your peers. If you're not, the scientific consensus is absolutely the best you can do and it's arbitrary foolishness to disregard it.

When it comes to creative and artistic works I have NO interest in anything included in the AI catchall (caveats required because machine-learning has its place WRT handling data). I will never use it. Do I want an AI copilot? No no no, no I do not; I despise the fact that I am even asked.

Nyctosaurus ~ night lizard 🌌🦎 . 4/5 complete! . I looked at a lot of modern day sea birds for inspiration of this design and I noticed a lot had simple colour palettes or strong lines so I felt this would be suitable for this pterosaur…but I couldn’t resist a flourish of colour on the crest tips!
