Not surprised at all to hear that Spider-Man has claimed the opening weekend record because yesterday with the exception of a couple of showings for The Odyssey, every single showing in every auditorium was for Spider-Man and all of them were sold out.

I see lots of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY praise for director Destin Daniel Cretton, the cast, Feige, & more - but no mention of writers Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, who are a consistent element of all 4 films & responsible for a great deal of why they work as well as they do. PROPS TO THE WRITERS.
Movies deserve to be released in theaters, movies and shows deserve to be released outside of streamers exclusively, and movies and shows deserve to be released on physical media for people to own. They shouldn't be kept locked up in one specific place.

How i feel about the overuse of the word "slop" these days
Shawn Levy's biggest crime (and it's not even a crime) is directing movies some people disliked. But from the social media posts I've seen, you'd think Kevin Feige and Ryan Gosling had asked Jeffrey Dahmer to direct "Ghost Rider." All of you need to calm down.
‘Coyote vs. Acme’ director Dave Green has confirmed the film will receive a physical Blu-ray release. The release will include hilarious outtakes featuring John Cena that Green says are “not PG-rated.”

This is the best possible news we could've gotten. This merger would've been a disaster and I'm glad it got thrown the biggest hurdle possible. Let's hope it keeps getting thrown pit traps so that way it never gets through and dies. Either way, massive sigh of relief.
DiscussingFilm@discussingfilm.net · 2w agoThe Paramount and Warner Bros merger is officially on hold. The merger will not move forward until June 1, 2027 OR until the courts provide a ruling on the lawsuits facing the merger.
