Here's the reality: Rather than dither in the face of critical mistakes made by SPD leadership, she demanded his resignation, got it done without a legal fight, and is moving on to hire a new chief. Most people I talk to agree the chief should be fired and think Wilson got this right.

GOOD NEWS: Katie Wilson's proposed Seattle Transit Measure renewal will be maintained as a full ten-year, 0.3% measure after amendments to water it down were defeated. The council is still deliberating on other amendments, but those were the big ones on deck today.

This morning Katie Wilson's proposed Seattle Transit Measure renewal is getting amended before going to the voters. We're about to see how significantly.
Telling people they're required to buy tickets using an app to ride transit when both of the main ways people pay for transit are not working is ridiculous. I know in practice they probably won't enforce it but this is such bad optics.

We need a government that just operates efficiently instead of always listening to the loudest external community group. It reduces the value of elections if every external group also gets an outsized say in things!

1 Line and 2 Line service is suspended at STATION until further notice due to CAUSE 1 Line trains are still running from STATION to STATION and from STATION to STATION. Some trains may turn back at Stadium. 2 Line trains are still running from STATION to STATON.
I left for a month on a trip and I came back to almost every intersection having No Turn On Red signs, and a new (better) design for them with a red dot!
Just a few days ago, America saw the biggest public political demonstration in the nation's history. 8 million people across the country. Virtually no violence, no incidents of any kind. An absolutely remarkable phenomenon. I'm reminding you because the media's forgotten already.

South Bellevue is close to the Mercer Slough. East Main Downtown Bellevue is close to the largest public library in the county system.

your friend lara@yourfriendlara.bsky.social · 6mo agoyeah one of my friends with me has taken the 2 Line replacement shuttles at least 4 times and never had an experience like this. I don't understand why it was SO broken. the communication on every level seemed broken.
complete failure of Metro and Sound Transit to figure out how to pull off continuity of service on the newly expanded 2 line. Get people home when the train breaks. It is so important but no one seems to be making sure operations are trained to run it smoothly.
