I am a grandparent (step-grandparent, if you're all about the blood) in a fairly complicated family, who only gets to see kiddo fairly infrequently. Sometimes they want to hug & sometimes they don't & that's 100% up to them. Hugs are absolutely the right place to start consent education!

Adverts run by the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre looking at consensual hugs between children and their grandparents has been suspended after criticism. Aontú's Peader Tóibín called the ad "bonkers", as he urged a "need to build resilience" among children. www.thejournal.ie/grandparents...

I was trying really hard to focus on something earlier and then I got distracted from it immediately because I started thinking about how my ADHD keeps distracting me lately Multiple times It's very frustrating being, neurologically speaking, a silly billy

I actually love billions going to subsidise fossil fuel companies instead of long term solutions. It's class that we can afford to prolong the issue of fossil fuel dependency indefinitely. I love it

You deserve to wear a binder if you want to Even if it's just sometimes Even if you just want to see what it's like You are enough, but you still deserve to wear one if you feel like you aren't (The same goes for trying anything else on your body)

When disabled people oppose Assisted Dying, it’s almost never from a religious point of view. It’s not because we’re anti-choice or that we want to force people to suffer. We oppose it because society devalues disabled lives and uses these programs in an unethical manner. They become eugenics. 🧵

As we reflect on sixty years of free secondary education and how it has transformed Ireland, it’s worth remembering that some people thought it was a mistake in its first few years. Who would object to free secondary education? In 1966, quite a few. jrnl.ie/7159629

There was even a pushback against school buses as a nature walk spoiled or an impromptu GAA match missed.
