Yeah, I hate this because I liked a fair number of games under EA. American McGee's Alice, Dead Space, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, SIMS, heck Shadow of the Beast was under them... *sighs* Corporate folks ruin everything.

Well, I guess Electronic Arts belongs to Saudi Arabia, private equity, and Jared Kushner now. https://kotaku.com/electronic-arts-officially-belongs-saudi-arabia-jared-kushner-now-2000721666

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

BP profits more than double to $5.7bn in three months as Iran war sends oil prices soaring - "While BP banks enormous profits, millions of households are paying the price" #energycrisis #climatecrisis www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Man, must be gutting for all global dictators to discover that they could’ve simply silenced any criticism of their practices from Amnesty International by simply threatening them with a SLAPP suit via Twitter.

Amnesty International has now issued a public groveling apology to JK Rowling's organization and has pulled her another report documenting the anti rights platform of gender critical organizations. www.amnesty.org.uk/latest/an-ap...

keep thinking about the evil of this. It's not just destroying the physical books, bad as that is. They are trying to remove the underpinnings of knowledge, destroy all the accumulated wisdom - and silliness, and creativity, and whatever else humans have thought worthy of writing down.

No longer content with pillaging intellectual work and dismembering our environment (already critically weakened), AI companies are now hellbent on destroying books galore including rare editions. Shut down these nefarious enterprises already.

I worked at Disney a while ago. Do you know why theme parks are so safe? Because OOSHA reps can walk the track on any ride at any time and any safety violation they see is a $10,000 fine. Each. Theme parks are not safe because the company cares. They're safe because it's cheaper to comply.

Turns out that food companies were only checking their food because the government told them to, which is exactly why we need government regulations.

Rowling will be SEETHING over this, but it won't stop her from conducting lawfare on any org that shows a scintilla of support for trans people. It won't stop until there is a case establishing that "gender critical beliefs" are simply transphobia by another name.

BBC burying the lede here until paragraph 3 - JKR bankrolled this and LOST. I repeat - JKR bankrolled this lawfare against the Belfast Film Festival and... LOST. It can be done! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Today at the con, someone flipped through my comic, laughed out loud, TOOK A PICTURE OF THE COMIC THAT MADE THEM LAUGH WITH THEIR PHONE, then walked away. No purchase, not even a thank you. I was speachless. Then it happened again. TWICE. I'm furious. My comic is 5 lousy bucks. Is this a new thing?

(if you’re worried, don’t: i checked before posting. “A rodeo spokesperson told KCRA 3 that the skydiver is doing well aside from a small cut over his lip and that he will be jumping again this Friday evening.”)

This is exactly why digital-only is such bad news for gamers It's 2029 and you want to redownload a game you played a few months ago but WHOOPS, PS6 servers are down so I guess YOU JUST CAN'T. I'm not having a go at EA for the Sony news - it just makes for a very timely example
