Tink: Intelligence highest, dexterity lowest. At first, anyway. Luna: wisdom (because of the perception aspect) is highest. Strength is probably lowest.

Tink: It's my grandfather's name. Even though he escaped it, my dad decided to make me Thaddeus Nigel Kincaid IV. Who does that to a kid? Were they trying to make sure I'd get beat up as much as possible. People mostly call me Tank, which also sucks, but at least doesn't get me beat up. Much.

#JulyInterviewFic. (Answer in character as your OC) Question 24. How do you feel about your name, and does it have any particular meaning or history?

Hmm. Tiff is the only one of my characters likely to be in a bar at all, and she definitely started the fight, although not by throwing a punch. She is a trickster and Goddess of Justice, after all.

She didn’t walk directly toward our target, but I didn’t think she was trying to be subtle. As she walked, she brushed by two of the men who I’d noticed her look at while she was scanning the room. I didn’t see any immediate fallout from these brief contacts, but I had no doubt something would come of them.
She passed within a foot of the man who was destined to become a god in a day and a half, but didn’t touch him. She then made her way back to Finn and me, taking a meandering path to do so. The only thing I saw her do, other than walk, in her entire circuit around the room, was slide a phone sitting on a table about eight inches to the right. No one else noticed, as far as I could tell.
“We should go.” Tiff didn’t slow down as she passed us, heading for the door.
Finn and I shared a glance, then followed.
As we walked out the door I heard a shouted “Hey!” and something about a phone. Tiff put her hands on the small of Finn’s and my backs to hurry us along. A resounding CRASH came from the pub as we reached the car.
A moment later, a chair came flying through the pub’s window with a spray of glass.
“What exactly did you do!?” Finn sounds angry.
Tiff holds up a hand. “No, no. It’s fine. B is going to end up with a broken arm and three broken fingers—”
Finn starts to speak, still looking angry, but Tiff plows on ahead.
“—which just so happen to match the injuries that his girlfriend reported a month and a half ago from ‘falling down the stairs.’”A little, but far from all, of the tension in Finn’s shoulders eased.
“What about all the other people in there? I can’t believe he’s the only one who’s going to end up hurt.”
“You’re right, but that’s why I took the long way ‘round the pub. There’s a guy in there who beats his dog; he ends up with a broken nose. He’s going to be out of it enough from the pain that when he goes into his house, the door won’t catch when he closes it behind him. The dog will escape and be found by someone who will take good care of him.”
“And that’s it?”
“The rest will be minor injuries that are no worse than some harm the recipient has done recently. Do you want a complete list?”
Finn still didn’t look completely satisfied. “What about all the damage to the pub? That’s going to cost a lot of money to fix, isn’t it?”
“Probably, but less than the owners have been stealing from the employee’s tips.”

Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters Your characters' evening at a bar/tavern has been interrupted by a bar fight. How do they respond? Finish it quick to get back to their meal? Ignore it and casually dodge furniture? Flee? Did they start it? #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

Retconned is my first self-published book, and I'm finding the data interesting. s expected, the bulk of my sales are through Amazon, but not by as much of a margin as I expected. I'm curious how this compares to other folks' experiences.

A chart with sales percentages by distributor for Retconned. Data follows
Retconned Sales 2026/06/05 - 2026/07/16 Snapshot
Distributor	Overall %	eBook %	Paperback %
KDP	51%	42%	71%
Itch	21%	30%	0%
Ingram Spark	9%	0%	29%
Kobo	7%	11%	0%
Apple Books	12%	18%	0%

In Retconned, the only character that is specified as non-binary is Cat. She has a girl form and a boy form, and he uses whichever pronouns feel right for their current form (she can also be a cougar or an enormous bird of prey). He was nonbinary from the start They'll also show up in Awakened.

Officers shooting a man, running away from law enforcement, who is not a target of law enforcement, and who poses no threat to law enforcement, is murder. Federal officers do not have the power to commit summary executions because they are aggrieved.

#PretendPanel I'd say I'm pretty low on visual detail. Since I tend to write in first person, it largely comes down to what the narrator would notice or be thinking about. Overall, I think I focus more on feelings than visual detail.

It's not quite as whiplash inducing as it once was, but it still surprises me when I'm up to my knuckles in old PDFs and find a full-throated defense of trans dykes from a cis women.

By denying transsexual lesbians you are saying that there are men in this world who would have an invasive surgery, identify as lesbians and therefore women, put themselves into the enviable position of daily physical, emotional, and financial abuse.
You are implying that transsexual women are psychologically sick. This is exactly how lesbians and gay men were defined in the
'30s, '40s, and '50s. In the course of your decision, you have moved the lesbian movement back to pre-Stonewall attitudes.
We are regressing. My lover, Kathryn Otter, is an accepted member of the New York lesbian community and a feminist. Besides her dedication to the homeless (she has managed and supervised the running of a soup kitchen in the South Bronx), Kathryn has escorted women through abortion clinic picket lines, been arrested twice for participating in the Needle Exchange Program and was recently convicted as one of the "Safe Sex Six" (the result of a protest in 1989 in St. Patrick's Cathedral). All this has been achieved as an OUT transsexual LESBIAN.

The first character that I can actually remember writing is Syl Mendieta from my first screenplay, The Knack. Syl is a 19yo woman with a supernatural knack for finding people and things. She’s protective of and loyal to her friends. I’d love to turn her story into a novel, eventually.

Tell me more about your #AwesomeCharacters Who is the first character you ever remember writing? What were they like? Are they still a character you use? Or have they influenced other characters you currently write? #WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts

Before I started writing my novel Lucid, I thought I was a straight cis guy. By the time I was done, I knew I ws a trans lesbian. Since then, writing has been a way to connect to people in a way that's otherwise difficult for me, and a way to express myself and share the stories in my head.

It depends on what works for each story. I tried starting Retconned with Frank getting marked and heading to The School, but that was way too early. Instead I started with him being the jerk he’d become over the year and a half since, and that was just right.
