I'm an #a11y consultant who likes fiber arts, video games, loud music, and heating pads. Disabled, chronically ill, neurodivergent, queer, and tired. I wrote a book called The Accessibility Operations Guidebook. She/her. Seattle/Duwamish territory.

Me (chronically ill): I’m just going to lie down and put on a quiet video while I try to head off this migraine Also me (ADHD): Now would be a great time to look for live bootlegs of Refused songs from the late 90s

Something I wish liberals - and, for that matter, a lot of leftists - would internalize: The goal is not to out-argue, disprove, fact-check, debate, or point out the inconsistencies or hypocrisies of fascists. The goal is to defeat them.

I really appreciated this piece on queer cohousing, including the acknowledgement that it's out of reach financially for the majority of people. It sounds like a dream and I wish it was more accessible.

HAPPY MOTHERFUCKIN' PRIDE! For our free post this month, we have @tinavasquez.bsky.social's on the ground report about North Carolina’s Village Hearth, the first LGBTQ cohousing community in the nation for people 55 and over. theflytrap.beehiiv.com/p/take-care-...

I'm so scared of cities. All those buildings so close to each other. You can go to the movie theater and a restaurant and the park while walking, in defiance of God. There are people you haven't met before. Sometimes there's a dog in a jacket

No one is just their disability. Culture, socioeconomic status, location, etc are a part of the disability experience. This carries over into accessibility. It's important to think about when addressing access barriers. It's important to have voices in the field that aren't the usual seen in tech.

Me: [Reading Bridget Read’s new book about MLMs] My partner: you probably know enough about MLMs to start your own now. Can you make one that just targets MAGA folks? Me: 🤓 Um, actually, MLMs are already designed to funnel cash into right wing politicals

Local resources are already being impacted by federal unrest and market instability, so this is the time to make sure you’re working with your local resource distribution group. Give to your food bank, harm reduction groups, volunteer with mutual aid groups in your area.

If you'd like to attend this workshop but don't have the cash, I've got the opportunity to sponsor a student! Feel free to DM me and I can get you signed up or share a checkout code. 💚
