Oh. I am crying. Not only is this content the most genius thing I've seen in ages but I am getting some ideas...............
There’s a guy on TikTok who posts just him taking a pizza out of the oven every day with tongs and all of the comments are about how their day is ruined from having watched this

... and people are saying this site doesn't have the juice (TIL, this is a thing. But I am old too)
I am often relieved that I'm old and coupled enough not to have to use a dating app and think of ways to convey the message "I can keep my ass clean" without having to actually say it and ruin the vibe
Today is the day the story There Will Come Soft Rain is set. An amazing and heartbreaking work of fiction for our modern age. Read it here:

Only took photos one day in July so #BestOfJuly for #BirdoftheDay was pretty easy for me 🪶
One of my many cohosts Rob 😂 @robcrank68.bsky.social has said that: “ Today's #BirdOfTheDay is #BestOfJuly so no need for an Alt Theme. “ I’m going with this young Stonechat as I loved how the colours of the bird blended with everything. #birds #photography #ECK
Working with a colleague for a few years; same style, interests, humour, approach to the work. One day conversation turned to something weird her mother had done. After a short pause I tentatively asked how old her mother was. Turns out her mum was a month younger than me... 😱😱😱
(after meeting someone my same age) Why are they so old? Am I that old?
I feel a bit more generous - there's a *really strong case* that the biggest single thing any politician/party can do is Not Screw Up. A *very basic model* shows that competence is a much, much bigger factor than any credible amount of political repositioning.
Policy work is sort of like humanist atheism - you just try to do good without expectation of punishment or reward.

I have spent a lot of time with young women and never heard a better description. It’s doubly true since you cannot retaliate, because they actually are children, so you just have to be like, okay, well, that’s me told then
bought candy at the pool for a 13yo and she tried to give me cash. i was like nahh it's nbd, and she goes "girl i have seen your car." 13yo girls remain undefeated. you think you're talking to a child but you're actually talking to whatever gods used to send to punish mortals for their hubris

Some avocados are female in the morning and male in the afternoon, while others are on the opposite schedule. This helps them avoid self-pollination. How do they do it? A @ucdavis.bsky.social study explains. www.ucdavis.edu/food/news/st...

Rewilding isn't a side project of the climate fight. It is the fight. This great man makes the case plainly: "the rewilding of the world will suck enormous amounts of carbon from the air and lock it away in expanding wilderness.” That's not a hope, it's an observed pattern across ecosystems.

Mountaineers traditionally do not fully summit Kangchenjunga (third highest mountain) out of respect for the locals who view the peak as the abode of the gods. K2 on the other hand...anyone who worships K2 needs to be locked in an asylum.
How smug would you feel as a worshipper of Chomolungma when it’s confirmed that your holy mountain *is*, scientifically, the most special mountain in the world
