It is not the place of clinicians to decide for you what your identity is and how you can express it. This is asserting total, complete control over the social lives of individuals on absolutely spurious "medical" grounds. And the fucking government are CODIFYING it.

One of the things about modern transmisogyny is that it gave right-wing regimes an avenue through which they institutionally recuperate feminism while actively eroding the rights of women and queer people, openly trialing new anti-gay marriage arguments and reifying womanhood as reproductive.

Reposting from 2024: Making puberty blockers the first line endocrine treatment for trans kids instead of just giving them hormones was a Faustian bargain between a society that would only accept trans people's existence as an incurable mental illness and the people willing to accept those terms.

Update: Young people & families today received shocking & transphobic letters from NHS. These letters tell people that endocrine care (blockers / HRT) is being fully withdrawn in 7 weeks time (July 31st). Forced medical detransition. This country is a danger to trans children & young people.
