In 2017, Criselda Vasquez painted this portrait of her parents and titled it "The New American Gothic." 1/I have been tracking the Mobile Fortify Database. The most accurate public information is the privacy tech assessment waved through by the Privacy Officer of DHS. A key point: (1) it is based off the CPB Travel Verification App; and (2) it was only supposed to track detained immigrants.

The misnomered 'mansion tax' below makes no distinction, in its language, between single- and multi-family housing — so by applying to multifamily projects worth $5M in a city where single-family homes cost >$1M, the tax has sharply throttled apartment construction. As was the intention, I suspect.
