I can’t believe we’re still having a debate about whether there’s a trade off between job creation and measures to green the economy. There isn’t. The evidence was clear years ago - a green economy creates far more jobs than the fossil fuel economy it replaces. Come on Labour, catch up …

esactly this. What Heath means by "mediterranean climate" is the climate his class of people went to the South of France or Italy for in the 1990s. Which is what we have this summer in the UK. It ignores the fact that that will change here too.

Time and again climate change is treated as though it were binary: we cannot prevent it, so ok, it’s there let’s embrace it. That’s entirely wrong: it is a sliding scale. We cannot prevent 1.5 degrees. But maybe 3? Or 5?
