This is vital. Writing helps us think. So many students are saying they turn to LLMs because they don’t know what to say, and need to hear that not knowing is normal as one starts to write.

Do you need to know what you think before you start writing? Not necessarily, argues historian Lynn Hunt. In a 2010 #AHAPerspectives essay, Hunt explores how the act of writing itself generates new ideas and why getting words on the page is essential to the thinking process.

I just rediscovered Kanopy and Hoopla and they are extremely good, way better than I remember. Highly recommend, especially since I have discovered you can stack your cards with everything and it's so rad, no creepy surveillance, no weird genAI mascots, no fucking ads, political or otherwise

Big Streaming doesn't want you to know that Kanopy is kind of like Amazon Prime Video except that you have to pay for Prime and Kanopy is free. Oh also Prime shows ads even though you pay for it and Kanopy doesn't show ads even though you don't pay for it. Oh and Bezos doesn't get Kanopy's data.

Congratulations on your inheritance: one tearoom, one murdered aunt, 13 regulars who know where the *ahem* bodies are buried. Brew tea, bake treats and try not to end up on the menu before Halloween. ...

There are two good ways to act with the Muppets. Either you take the Michael Cain approach and pretend you are working with a professional troupe from the West End. Or the Tim Curry approach where you pretend you yourself are also a Muppet. RIP

The Haunting (1963). Gorgeous black and white visions of dread anchored in overstuffed, asymmetrical rooms that burrow under your skin. Loneliness leading to the pathetic fate of letting yourself be devoured by something terrible because it's better than not being wanted at all.

We hit Overwhelmingly Positive on steam in under 48 hours! Thanks so much to everyone who gave us a good review. I was able to take a break last night and watch some streamers and it made me so happy. There's nothing better as a developer than seeing people enjoy your stuff.
