“ICE agents were caught on video pulling one teen from the car and punching him repeatedly in the face while he lay on the ground. The other teen, Luis Ochoa, said he informed the ICE agents he was a citizen but was told, ‘I don’t give a damn.… Your parents can’t help you now.’”

“Two U.S. citizen teenagers who were on their way to file enlistment papers to join the Marines were violently attacked by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, who reportedly detained them for nearly eight hours before letting them go.” newrepublic.com/post/215393/...

Republicans claim to care about children & families - then turn around & write discrimination into law. They gutted the Dept. of Ed, slashed funding for SNAP & Social Security, enacted brutal & traumatizing family separation & lock children away in trailer prisons with subpar food, air, &healthcare.

BART is performing rail destressing between North Concord and Pittsburg/Bay Point stations at midnight tonight. To create a safe work space for our crews, BART will reduce service from two tracks to one while the work is taking place. Riders can anticipate delays of 20-25 minutes.

Pokémon came to town last week and set some ridership records! The Tues/Wed/Thu leading up to Pokémon World Championships were the three highest ridership days for BART since the pandemic. The weekend saw great numbers too! Thread👇

Incredible to be at the 20th Annual Temescal Street Fair listening to great music, eating good food, and shopping around. This year we also honored the 60th anniversary of the Black Panther Party. The 10 point program is more salient than ever -may we continue to fight for the free destiny of all.

Check out this footage from the early days of BART in 1972, back when we were running two and three-car trains! Soak in the music, the rider fashion, the sleek new trains. Link to the full archival video in the thread below 👇

I went to Sac yesterday to rally to restore transit and affordable housing funding, which the Governor took to give to to oil companies. This building was a BART parking lot and soon will be 70 affordable homes, made possible by state funds. We must restore funding to meet housing & climate goals.

There is a station closure at El Cerrito Plaza due to police responding to a medical emergency inside the station. AC Transit is providing bus service between El Cerrito Del Norte and El Cerrito Plaza on bus 72/72M. Bus 27 runs between Downtown Berkeley and El Cerrito Plaza.

US Secretary of Transportation hates public transportation and bike infrastructure. His claims are detached from the reality of what eases traffic congestion and makes communities easier and safer to get around. This guy has no business leading USDOT. A few things he asked Congress for (1/3)

Epstein survivor: I found my name in two places in the first Epstein Files release. In the next release, the redactions were far worse. The Files displayed my name, phone number, and more. These documents contain disturbing yet incomplete accounts of my abuse. It was humiliating.

She's not on Bluesky, but huge thanks and congrats to Bike East Bay Co-Executive Director Jill Holloway for successful organizing to extend the Ava e-bike rebate! We only had a couple weeks notice, and with the help of our team she organized a petition, email writing campaign, and outreach.
