Moskowitz was always going to take the Florida 25th. 35% in this district for Larkin - an actual anti-Zionist - is a sign of something.

The reason we didn't poll Markey vs. Moulton is we don't have much to contribute. I'm seeing the same dynamic as the Markey vs. JKIII 2020 primary: Markey looks "in trouble" from April to early August, and his voters come home a couple weeks before.
Another poll shows Markey leading Moulton as primary nears final showdown
A second new poll gives Sen. Ed Markey a clear edge over Rep. Seth Moulton in the Massachusetts U.S. Senate Democratic primary.

Hey, guys, when the librarians get pissed about the destruction of books, it’s time to put those listening ears on. Because we are very comfortable with the idea that books are tools that can be retired. What’s happening right now is not that.
Once again and over and over until it gets through: archives and libraries scanning something for preservation is an entirely different story than private citizens and companies doing it, because there are strict ethical standards for the former and the latter consider them annoyances.
my most madisonian take is that if he was at 52% approval they would entertain this.
Update: The Supreme Court, as expected, denied Trump's second go at asking the justices to take up his appeal in E. Jean Carroll's case this morning. (This was the rehearing request that Trump's lawyers had unsuccessfully been arguing should justify courts holding off giving Carroll her money.)
"During the pandemic, faculty hiring dropped dramatically but DEI policies kept minority hiring flat/slightly elevated — leading to ~1 additional faculty hired per institution per year relative to the counterfactual. Just a few years later, this trend had ended."
Sasha Gusev has a great new blog post on faculty hiring during the DEI era. Remarkable how much backlash there has been to what was an tiny and temporary bump in hiring Black, Latino, and Native faculty of about 1 person per R1 campus theinfinitesimal.substack.com/p/what-actua...
Ed Markey beat one of the best natural politicians in the Mass congressional delegation by double digits in the 2020 primary. How do you expect him to do against one of the worst?
Too moderate for Mass.? Poll finds Moulton trailing Markey in Senate race
Our new poll finds a big shift toward Sen. Ed Markey in his primary race against Rep. Seth Moulton, and suggests the incumbent's progressivism is a big reason why.

I’m reposting Adam’s piece again because i think there is no one else talking about the corrupting influence of money in politics in such a nuanced way. I’d also want the next campaign committee chairs to reign in this kind of bullshit.
There are four overlapping scandals here: 1. Fundraising spam tactics are hallmarks of elder financial exploitation 2. The Dem establishment is in on it 3. Most of what is raised goes to fundraising consultants 4. Capitulation to legal threats by NYT and The Bulwark on a fully vetted story 🧵👇
This is a truly important post. You should read it if you want to understand what the hell is happening to DNC fundraising, and the nasty consequences for country and party

If you are frightened by the inevitable march of time, next year the first members of Generation Alpha will start looking at colleges.
Money in politics man, you’re either taking corporate PAC money, hustling for large dollar donors on the phone 4 hours a day, or scamming elderly people out of their social security checks
The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.
i think one thing about no one trusting media anymore this these clips spread kind of organically to people. i mean, the guy is in the mid-to-low 30s on approval, and still falling.

There’s always room to indulge Julia in more posts. Excellent points here. I thought the same thing about Roys, but then I noticed enough Roys signs around town in places I saw Sanders & Warren signs in 2016/2020, as opposed to Biden & Clinton ones. Will be interesting to see if we ever get data.

There will probably be far fewer foreign students on college campuses nationwide this fall following the Trump administration’s crackdown on international visas. A new report predicts international enrollment will decrease by 9.5 percent this fall.

Counterpoint: Polls underestimated Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota about as much as they overestimated Hong in Wisconsin
I have defended pollsters and their work has been pretty darn accurate now for years. But I’m curious about how they have now twice vastly overestimated the support of progressive candidates.
Tonight will be worse than average
On primary polling in MI, @gelliottmorris.com noted, “…polls had Sayed up by ~13 points. So this is like a 12-point misfire. But actually, I've looked at all Senate primary polls back to 1998. The average miss is actually 13 points. So, last night was better than average for the polls in a primary.”
