The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. They’re tapping in to get in on the violence. And then he bragged about it on X later.

It's also worth noting that the primary driver of Trump's tanking numbers is the deep unpopularity of two central pillars of right wing populism, tariffs and immigration restrictionism. The story we were told about 2024 was that it revealed a durable right wing populist turn. It's not materializing.

This is highly unusual: Trump is tanking on the economy *and* immigration. Both are issues where GOP typically has an edge. Trump has thrown away the GOP advantage on both.
