Yes, Rogers is wrong. But it’s not so much an error or a lie as it is Rogers being a virulent ethno-nationalist and Islamophobe who doesn’t believe people like El-Sayed can or should ever be considered American.

The painful facts of Darlene Graham’s biography, as Greg lays out here, only underscore her grotesque incomprehension of the public good — the brutish meanness and wrongness of her antipathy for caring for the health of others because she suffered as a young person.
