That's why your share of taxes should go up with your income. I'm sick of high earner libertarians playing dumb about this. Buddy you need a labor pool that can read and get to work and drink water without getting sick. You need them fed. You need society to stay rich. Pay up.
The "use" paradigm is so self serving when wielded by high earners. Managers need society more than anyone else. I manage a group of 20ish engineers. That means not only do I need roads to exist to get me to work, I need roads to get them to work from places where I don't live. It's not complicated.

I think 21st century military readiness is more about sufficient stockpiles of missiles and air defense interceptors than how white, masculine, straight, clean-shaven, buff, and disdainful of law personnel is, so the US should prioritize the former. Sorry to get so partisan, but that's how I feel.
Tongue in cheek. But in all seriousness, this really is the Trump/Hegseth/MAGA/Manosphere theory of war. Both in the literal sense that cartoonish displays of try-hard toughness are key to defeating enemies, and in the meta sense that their war effort prioritizes memes for their domestic audience.

Fun fact: when you go on disability, your tax withholding gets fucked and if you're distracted by surgeries, immobility, your life being ripped away, you might miss that for a year or 3. But the IRS is cool and lets you pay it back monthly with every nickel you don't need for basic survival.
