just like the Fugitive Slave Act, conservatives demand that they can impose their evil systems upon liberal states, democracy be damned, but if liberal states so much as offer a mild disincentive for evil to make conservative state maybe Suck Less then it's unconstitutional tyrannical overreach

I know this raises hackles, but by those criteria firing squad is far and away one of the most (relatively) humane options they either need to be willing to put up and go there or to shut the fuck up and accept abolition
