SRC changed their terms of use yesterday, and released a news post with an FAQ. They make it sound like not a big deal. It's a big deal. The Creative Commons licence is gone. They claim ownership over the data now. Thread about what this means, and what we can do about it 🧵
Going for twitch affiliate is frustrating because sometimes you will have 3+ people talking in your chat at the same time and twitch will still tell you that you only have 1 viewer. Then it will tell you that you aren't getting enough average viewers to reach affiliate. Anyways, 69 followers nice

Chardcore@charware.dev · 7mo agoSpousecore was involved in an accident recently. They're unhurt but the car is totaled and due to an issue with the title we will be out of a car for up to 2 more weeks. This is a financial strai so if anyone can spare even a few bucks it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. $ShesChardcore

my hot take this November is that "cheater exposed" videos are a net negative to the speedrunning scene. they appeal to the base instincts of viewers and create acceptable targets of abuse. these things should be handled by moderators in private Discord servers, not shown to millions for humiliation
In Donkey Kong Country 2, it is possible to trap Diddy Kong in a state of eternal horror. Hitting K. Rool with a team-up throw in a specific manner will cause Diddy's eyes to pop out in shock; however, he will never recover and stay in this state until the game is reset.

After literally dozens of chokes to the last split, I've finally achieved the first ever 6:1X in Mobility. The 84 hours of playtime and 4,819 attempts don't tell the whole story here, as hundreds of hours were spent doing ILs, TASing, and practice. This grind was mentally exhausting. 6:0X soontm
please go show both composer and dayoman love for their incredible achievements over the past 24 hours, they're both so far past what i could ever dream to achieve and they deserve the clout right now. just don't be annoying

Three dollars?! I have 103.5 hours on this game. That's like 30 hours per dollar of enjoyment, and then some. You will enjoy it more than half a latte. You will enjoy it more than a fifth of a sandwich. You will enjoy it more than one sixth of a movie. It's a really, really good deal.

I'm officially PINK in Celeste Classic! In order to get the prestigious pink discord role, you need to get top times in the 3 most competitive categories (1:44 any%, 2:0X 100%, and 1:5X gemskip). The last time I needed was for 100%, and I just achieved a 2:07 (placing me in tied 6th place)

PSA to all speedrunners - PLEASE download and upload all highlights to YouTube. Huge amounts of speedrunning history will be lost if we don't take action. Even if you're under 100 hours, play it safe and download. It's 100 hours for now, but who knows in the future.

![5-panel comic. (1) [teacher with long hair next to whiteboard] TEACHER: I’m supposed to give you the tools to do good science. (2) [teacher addressing students] But what *are* those tools? Methodology is hard and there are so many ways to get incorrect results. What is the magic ingredient that makes for good science? (3) TEACHER: To figure it out, I ran a regression with all the factors people say are important: [embedded list in sub-panel, cut off at end] Outcome variable: correct scientific results. Predictors: collaboration; skepticism of others’ claims; questioning your own beliefs; trying to falsify hypotheses; checking citations; statistical rigor; blinded analysis; financial disclosure; open data (4) TEACHER: The regression says two ingredients are the most crucial: 1) genuine curiosity about the answer to a question, and 2) ammonium hydroxide. (5) STUDENT: Wait, why did *ammonia* score so high? How did it even get on the list?
