I'm honestly wondering if I should treat a ton of grading like workout sets, because after a bunch of them, I need a mental break like a physical break. Or maybe even combine those. Like idk, one assignment, ten kettlebell swings. One assignment, ten kettlebell swings. Has anyone tried this?

(I wonder if the new publisher of Analog / Asimov's / F&SF is sockpuppeting the Reddit thread about their latest round of contracts conflict, because what's happening with the user defending them endlessly despite racking up over a hundred downvotes is rather hard to explain otherwise)
I own copyright on the vast majority of cover art I’ve created. And yes, I own the right to make prints of that art. But even when fans demand I make prints upon book release, I don’t do it @ that time. Why? Because I want the author and publisher to make $$$$$. But those art rights remain mine.
Thanks for posting this Analog. With all due respect this does not make any sense to me. I've had covers created for my books by their publishers. They hired artists. The Text copy right of Countess and Skin Thief belong to me. The artist for those covers doesn't sell that cover art elsewhere.
This week I have the most grading in ALL of the semester (yes, just after the Jewish holidays ended) - sorry I am not around a lot, but I am nearing the end B"H. I did go to the library booksale and bought 8 books (I got two of those for free bc I did the reading challenge), thread when I'm done?
Some favorite octopuses I've drawn to celebrate #WorldOctopusDay
Greatly entertained by this because I've been playing this game in breaks between grading, I kid you not, people's homework assignments about Propp and the structure of folktales.
People sometimes ask what Burn With Me was inspired by... And although there are no direct influences from games or other media, I still want to highlight a book (or rather two books) that have helped and influenced the narrative of the game a lot: the analysis of folktales by Vladimir Propp.

Last year, every* gender studies scholar in the US was spammed with a hardcover copy of an "academic" book by some TERF from a big publisher. (I opened it to a random page and gave up after 3 factual inaccuracies, I didn't get to the next page.) I wonder why I am reminded of that all of a sudden!
Scholastic sent me a whole box of paperback copies of Sorcerer’s Stone that I sure didn't order. When I asked why, my rep told me they're sending complimentary giveaway copies to random schools that do Book Fair.

I am seeing a ton of discussion of Order of the Sinking Star (and a lot about Jon Blow's politics) but no comments on the art direction? I've been still climbing out of the mountain of stuff after moving, so I kind of missed that this game looks like it had no art direction?! Is it just me???
At one point last year I was like, did I just make up Anne Carson being nonbinary, because I clearly remember her saying that, but Google brought up nothing. I just tried again and this blog post has SOURCES. (Definitely more than just "hinting at" fwiw) the-niche.blog/2017/02/21/t...

🧵 Attention, Fellow SFF Artists and Authors -- here is my response to Must Read Magazines, after they presented an Asimov's art contract expecting me to waive all Moral Rights and Copyright to my art. And, I would strongly advise the following to my fellow pros…. 1/
147 of my mutuals follow this account, head over and see. This is the kind of account that will all of a sudden out of the blue post a very specific kind of propaganda that will then rapidly go viral. (I hope I will be wrong)
wait, is this a real person or a bot? so many people follow this account but all they do is post engagement bait and "yesss" to every answer, including my dumb joke one.
Tomorrow is release day for @dorothyproject.bsky.social and both books are currently 25% off at nyrb.com!! I’m so excited to read these!
Clear evidence that a member of the ruling regime tried to get 7.5k voters, mostly Muslim, deleted even after being told there was no supportable reason to. This is going on throughout the country. This (among other reasons) is why people are on the streets protesting in India right now.
BJP agent sought Form-7 deletion of 7,561 names in Ballari
Claiming that more than 7,500 electors were either “absent or had shifted,” a BJP-affiliated Booth Level Agent (BLA) attempted to fill Form-7 applications and, after his claims were not accepted by th...

I've been looking forward to this for a while - a new tool for making grid-based puzzle games! I haven't used it yet but the design goal seems like it might be "what if PuzzleScript was both more powerful and more approachable", which is very exciting to me.

Jewsky, a request for assistance: Kiddo asked for a "textured" tallit. Something not too heavy bc shul gets hot sometimes, but with plenty for a sensory seeker. He identified our touristy woven blanket as ideal (see image.) The only Judaica shop in our town closed; where should I order from?
Bunch of writers sprinkling Celtic mythology or Greek mythology all over a scifi or fantasy story with NO OTHER ELEMENTS from these cultures or countries, but the moment I say, 'Caribbean,' I have to match a newsreel or your vacation fantasy. The double standard is ridiculous.
