📣Calling All Trans Books!📣 I have one more FLL book scheduled for this year—ace + disability rep!—but for the rest of the year (and into the next one), in honor (/sarcasm) of a certain remake coming out this December, the rest of the books will be trans rep (especially by trans writers). 🌈📚 /🧵

I get this question almost *daily* now. "My book is my own ideas. I just used AI to brainstorm." Or "The book is mine. I used AI to edit." Or "I wrote the book, and I had AI translate it." They'll even say, "I didn't use AI. I just used AI to—" Stop. Keep *all* AI out of art.

My new books have a NO AI disclaimer on them, but I've been seeing labels like "THIS IS NOT AI. The work in this volume album was made by hand, but AI assisted--" Music labels and publishing houses are now putting "AI Assist" on things to get around having to label it as AI.

Asexuals on Adventures, Coming Oct 19-31st on Itchio. Ace flag and purple background. Main text: 'Adventure' for the purpose of this bundle could be of a fantastical, scientific, or other speculative nature, or historical. Ideally it involves travel/ exploration, and may involve quests (from personal in scale, to save a people/ save the world.) Eligibility & Genre: At least one Main Character is somewhere on the asexual spectrum. Plot-central ace (and LGBTQIA+) themes are welcome, but not required. Adventure. There needs to be a big adventure, ideally one involving geographical travel. Eg. Exploring space/ a fantasy world, time travel, an alternate history, an underworld of demons, a society of vampires. Sexual exploration involving long distance travel and experiences of other places (eg a road trip) is welcome. Murder mysteries involving long distance travel (eg. multi city/ country investigations and some experience of those places) are welcome. Given Adventure, I'm anticipating Fantasy, SciFi & other Speculative Fiction. Possibly Historical, mystery/ crime, romance, NSFW. Preorders: Pre-orders are welcome, if your book releases within 5 weeks of the bundle's end date. Please state the release date in your Itch book description, so readers know when they can download your book. Categories: YA and Adult Fiction, novellas and full length novels.

I am not first and will be far from the last to say this: I have purchased so many books because I saw them recommended or publicized here on bsky. I cannot urge you all enough to KEEP TALKING ABOUT BOOKS. I know it's easier to talk up someone else's book, but this also means you, the shy author.

The Dolphin Diaries by Ben M. Baglio. I was tested on every book I read in school. To read was to be tested. So, I stopped reading. But my mom started reading to me for fun and got me hooked. And after finding the Dolphin Diaries, I was determined to read ten books at once. 😅 Which I did!

I’m getting more emails from writers who used ChatGPT for editing “help,” and because they did so, are now being refused by agents, publishers, and editors. I feel for them because AI ignorance is huge, so here’s my PSA: You are more creative than a robot and you do not need AI.
