I saw Morphine in concert in '94. One of the most mesmerizing live experiences I've had. Just a 2-string bass, baritone sax, drum, voice. Even though their 93 LP, Cure for Pain, is probably their best work, I usually come back to Yes. Innovative, challenging. Love the song Whisper. RIP Mark Sandman.

Saw Dana Colley a few months back with Vapors of Morphine and it was a top class evening's entertainment. Not Morphine obviously, but absolutely recommended if you're a fan.
I'm going with Mark Sandman, former singer and bassist for the band Morphine. He passed away in 1999, but top of mind for me today because they just announced that an album of recordings made prior to his death are being released as a new album before the end of this year.

Morphine is a source of debate in our household. I argue that Morphine is the best band of the 1990s. My wife takes the contrary opinion that she hates saxophones.
I've been keeping my ears out for rare/unreleased Morphine music for close to two decades and there's songs on here I've never heard, I'm so excited. Morphine's my favorite band ever.
Morphine fan here, too. Used to play in a band that covered, "You Look Like Rain." Audiences always loved that song!
