Can't believe I'm saying this, but this may be a contender for the best trans nonfiction of 2026. Hands down the most accessible account of American trans history, with a shocking amount of nuance and depth behind its arguments. I consider myself very well read, and I learned a lot here.

Anyway today's read is the revised edition of Transgender History by @susanstryker.bsky.social. I've read 2ed at least five times, and I got through two chapters at the library earlier. Not much I haven't already said about this book. Pineco seems like a good fit, couldn't explain to you why.

accurately tagging your work if you are a trans woman who writes anything with a real bite to it will get most distributors to ban your work. Resisting fascism means resisting the urge to police your community members. It means resisting the transphobic AI algorithms. It means trusting your readers.

'Content/trigger warnings are a tool for resisting fascism' What a strange thing to say lol.

There are, AFAIK, much fewer trade pub releases by transfem authors this year than in the previous. Judging by deal announcements this year, 2027 is going to be even worse than 2026, which is worse than 2025. All the more important to support selfpub transfem authors tbqh.

The downward publishing trend from the high water mark of Spring 2025 continues, unfortunately. This fall is going to have even fewer new releases.

Alright I've done my due diligence, and my current count for the Q1-Q2 publishing period is 57 titles. I know it's an undercount! If you're a transfeminine author who's published a book between January 1st and June 30th in ANY GENRE, and your book isn't on this list, please let me know!!!! ⬇️

New! Fiction releases by transfeminine authors from May - July 2026. Of note: quite a few trans women of color, both self- and trade-published (though, as you might expect, primarily self-published). #transfembookreleases

AI is going to destroy the world, but it’s because it’s going to embolden execs to fire the mysterious trans woman who is the only one that runs some extremely load bearing system written in assembly and replace her with vibe coding that ends up causing a vast unfixable economic crisis

Aurora is back, and it's now night, so usually her fav moth hunting time. We're letting her go about the flat instead of putting her into a pen bc she absolutely hates being confined and I suspect it would rather damage her healing. But does anyone have tips how to balance this situation?

Also if it makes any new crochet 🧶 people feel better, I just had to re look up magic circle because my muscle memory failed me. I have made hundreds, maybe thousands of magic circles, but lately I've been favoring ch 3 as a start

Chewing and thinking and dwelling on a whole bunch of obnoxious stuff and I keep looking back to: I'd be in solidarity with people of color regardless, because it's the right thing to do. But even out of self-interest, their work has given me more tools than anything written by white people

Creative friends, does anyone know of a company that will do custom prints on ceramic mugs on various base colours? It would need to be a company that’ll do small quantities (10-20) and be able to ship to Australia. Asking for my young adult kid. Share if you know people who might know?

To calm myself, and more swatching, I'm trying out whether it's possible to knit this awesome cable knot by Lucy Hague upside down. And, you guys, IT IS!!! You just turn the sheet and read the occasional number on its head. But her chart symbols are symmetrical. It also works in 1 color #knitsky 🧶
