I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau. At one point there's a perspex box full of children's shoes. I couldn't help thinking about the tiny, innocent feet that once walked in those shoes. I was powerfully affected. I cried in public. Now I wonder how many children's shoes are buried in Gaza.

These two photos were taken from my patio a few hours apart. One captures the towering smoke plume at sunset. The other shows the fire illuminating the night sky.

Fire too close 😥 It started yesterday and quickly grew to over 2600 hectares. It is so dry here. 🙏🏻My thoughts are with everyone who lost their homes, including the animals.
