Thank you to all who have shared your condolences about Mike's passing - it is overwhelming. There will be a celebration of life for Mike on August 9 at Dogwood Pavilion in Coquitlam - and a livestream to ensure all who were touched by him may come should they wish. More details later. Sylvia

This is Mike's partner Sylvia Fuller - I am so sorry to say that Mike was found unresponsive while mountain biking yesterday and died despite the best efforts of other riders and Squamish EMS. Thank you to Squamish Search and Rescue for carrying him out and taking care of our dog. We are shattered

Regulators have linked Mark McAfee’s raw dairy farm to more than a dozen recalls and outbreaks that left hundreds of people ill. “I’ve put a couple kids in the hospital,” McAfee said. “But here’s the thing: I’m a pioneer.”

He Profits Off Raw Milk That’s Making People Sick. The Government Isn’t Stopping Him.

With Raw Farm, the largest raw-milk dairy in the country, Mark McAfee has capitalized on a once-fringe product that’s been thrust into the mainstream in recent years and backed by Health Secretary Rob...

I'm afraid @craigspencer.bsky.social gives MAHA far too much credit. MAHA is just a rebranding of the medical freedom/antivax coalition that has been undermining public health for decades. It isn't unique in caring about healthy food, chronic disease, or healthier children—nearly everyone does.

A lot of people in public health believe that MAHA is “nothing more than a subversive anti-vaccine, anti-science syndicate,” but the movement is an opportunity that the public-health sector “cannot afford to squander,” Craig Spencer argues:

while I also long for this day, I also know that without massive reforms, the US is always one election away from another Trump. his exit from office, as satisfying as it will be, is not the end. there's a lot more work to do

Can't wait for the morning I wake up, have my coffee, and he's nowhere in the news. Just an orange stain in the history books. And the stuff that actually matters to people gets to be the headline again.

Remarkable camera angle of President Trump as he listens to Wall Street Journal reporters receiving an award for their investigation into Trump’s relationship with Jeffrey Epstein — which they pursued despite Trump’s threats and lawsuit.

Wait. They all shake hands at the end? What are we even doing here? He's the US President suing you for $20 billion for reporting on the birthday card he sent his friend the pedophile in which he drew a naked girl & mused about secrets. And they all shake hands?

The WHCA Dinner used to be an event at which POTUS was roasted by the press, which ostensibly served the purpose of reminding POTUS of the role of the news media as a check on executive power. Now it is a humiliation ritual for journalists, in which their very presence is evidence of subservience.

I did not anticipate how bonkers it was going to be to see the WAPO journalists who won an award for their reporting on Trump in the Epstein files each shake his hand as if everything is totally normal, then see the lights dim over the President because he was asleep. Vonegut couldn’t write better.

I managed to make Google cough up a link to a report I first read ~20 years ago. This is becoming a rare occurrence so I thought I would celebrate it while it lasts. The past few years I've been unable to find sites, posts and other resources I know exist because keyword search no longer works.
