For me, it's about the message it sends: that everyone deserves the freedom to be themselves, and that our diversity remains one of London's greatest strengths.
Just so predictable. Labour got themselves into this because those who aren't True Believers thought they could appease those who are then the issue would go away. Not so. The GCs are obsessives attempting a top down reorientation of our culture to spite a minority they despise. They must be fought.
@lastpositivist.bsky.social · 6d agoMy near-term prediction is this will be met with soft resistance (and not always principled, or at least as much motivated by unwillingness to pay and sheer indifference) initially from British civil society, and the next round fight is a bunch of lawsuits from GCs to try and force compliance.

I'm not going to fact check this but at a party last night someone told me that bars in Germany used to have "beer warmers" because people didn't want to drink cold beer.
I'm in Halberstadt where I have been sent by the lovely folk over at Orbital Studies to witness and write about the 17th chord change of John Cage's "As Slow as possible" which has been playing on an organ here since 2001 and is projected to keep playing until the 2600s.
