The situation with FurAffinity is pretty amazing. Advertisers threatened their advertising revenue because they considered Plus Sized characters and characters HUGGING to be adult content. So FA said fuck off, and in two days raised their entire yearly funding. Advertisers are so bullshit stupid.

Whatever might be your grievance with FA, they are definitely a pillar of the community. And corporations want to dictate how it operate. Other sites are either too small (SoFurry, Weasyl) Or run by GenAI fucks (e621) Donating is a better option than whatever drastic options they'll have to take.

In regard to FurAffinity being at risk due to censorship: Furries are now political targets. We are getting namedropped at high levels of government. They know that we are a large, influential, largely queer, community. Fighting for the spaces owned by our community is incredibly important

I had to look it up because I couldn't believe he did this, but yes, @gavinnewsom.bsky.social actually vetoed the Speaker's bill banning former ICE agents from public employment in CA. The Legislature should over ride his veto.
