I’m not interested in policing how other people deal with their mental health issue, but as a person with a stigmatised mental illness, I have a particular distaste for works that make mental illness “cute” and “relatable” - We all know nobody’s making those about paranoid schizophrenia lol

It’s pretty fucked up how once you’ve been treated for mental illness, anything that happens to you, no matter how horrible or undeserved, makes sense to people and requires no further explanation. It’s its own neat, pre-packaged narrative that everyone’s used to hearing—and people exploit that.
