If you are an estrogen dominant person you need to know if you coach, trainer, physical therapist or other athletic professional supports trans women. Even if you are a cis woman and not just because we don’t give money to bigots….

Immediately after Jan 6, Trump’s approval ratings tanked to the lowest point of his first term (to roughly where they are right now, in fact). It was only as time went on, and elite institutions signaled that maybe it hadn’t been such a big deal, that people stopped caring as immediately

As silly as the whole "the right has no cultural influence" argument is, the whole edifice is indeed a depressing look into the mind of a typical American swing voter

ICE agents give contradictory orders on purpose. “You f*cking move I’ll f*cking tase you! Get out of the f*cking car!” It’s a no win situation. The person being violently accosted in this video is a disabled veteran. Imagine if the agents had been wearing shock gloves? Abolish & prosecute ICE

The Dallas Express, which purports to be an independent nonpartisan local news source, currently lists only one reporter on its staff page. That reporter is the chairman of a Tarrant County GOP committee. The publisher and primary financial backer is a GOP mega donor.

One of the reasons I'm feeling so tetchy about some of the claims being made in the Tillie Walden / Rachel Cleves account is that the notion that the first person who compiles the information owns it is not something I'm willing to accede to for multiple reasons.

In the wake of Arday's death, Nathan Cofnas (who led the X mob against him) states his motivation. Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.

The older I get, the more clear it is that all our safety and well-being is intertwined. The same forces pushing racism are targeting trans people and immiserating the disabled and extracting everything they can from all of us. We gotta stand up for everyone because everyone is all of us.

arday was being used by these institutions as a symbol of their own goodness, and then he was used in turn by right-wing opportunists who wanted to smear them. he wasn't entirely a victim, of course, but he also wasn't the only one being dishonest.

Have you wondered why Donald Trump keeps calling his disastrous war on Iran an "excursion"? …According to close sources, it's because Trump is confusing the term “military incursion” with a "military excursion." @swin24.bsky.social and @andrewperez.bsky.social report:

The Dumb Reason Trump Keeps Calling His Iran War a ‘Little Excursion’

Describing his war as an ‘excursion’ is the latest way Trump is screwing things up, not worrying about the details, and refusing to correct course.

One of the great shocks for Irish people is how White the top UK [Russell Gp] unis are, compared to Ireland. The relentless bullying of this academic & the failure of Cambridge to support him is a new low. He was absolved of the charges yet even here they are cited*

Jason Arday, who resigned from Cambridge University amid plagiarism claims, found dead

The Met Police said a 41-year-old man was found unresponsive at an address in south London today.

Tonight's obvious vagueskeet: The worst harm social media has done us is the chance it gives too many people to feel it's okay to be *amazingly* cruel to others (dead or alive) if enough others agree with you... and if no one can be right there to respond to your cruelty by punching you in the face.

In light of some absolutely terrible news, I just want to say I’ve met two types of liars in my life - those trying to survive and those trying to destroy. And maybe everyone - including the media and social media - should do a better job differentiating the two.

So much discourse is trying to parse some hidden (and more rational) meaning when these are people who very openly say what they mean. In part because it feels unsophisticated for professional take-havers to just say, for example, "Elon Musk is a white supremacist." But it is actually that simple.

Really glad @polphilpod.bsky.social is making this argument at length at @liberalcurrents.com The fascists really do believe what they say. That’s part of what makes them so dangerous. www.liberalcurrents.com/fascists-rea...

Imagine you think-as Elon Musk clearly does-that all of human civilization is dependent on maintaining pure-blooded white people as a significant portion of the world's population, and keeping them in charge of, and the overwhelming majority within, its most powerful states. What political agenda would follow from that?
Well, if that were true, then a demographic purge of those states would be desirable. Ethnic cleansing of that scale
is not possible with our existing political systems, so those systems would need to be done away with.
