Cell biologist passionate about organelle dynamics and signaling. Which organelle? Well.. that depends on the day!
This is tomorrow (thursday, 5pm CET)! Join us for the first session of the #membranetrafficking seminars after the break :)
#membranetrafficking seminars are back for the fall session! This Thursday two exciting talks from Roger Pons Lanau from @felixmendu.bsky.social lab and @veijosalo.bsky.social #ER #lipiddroplets and lots of wonderful imaging! From single molecules to cryo EM! Please repost
Many thanks @jcb.org and @angelikahausser.bsky.social for highlighting our recent findings on how the Golgi responds to mechanical forces! As nicely pinpointed out, many (I think exciting and relevant) questions remain open, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this evolves in the next few years!
Spotlight: @felixmendu.bsky.social et al (rupress.org/jcb/article/...) show that the #Golgi responds to the mechanical force of cell spreading by increasing its secretory output, sustaining spreading thru a self-reinforcing feedback loop. By @angelikahausser.bsky.social: rupress.org/jcb/article/...
Join us on September 16th for our Journal Club! We are excited to feature Dr. Natalia Jimenez Moreno, who will present her recently published work in Molecular Cell, “ER-liquid condensate contacts sequester FAM134B/C and RhoA to govern cell morphology.” Email wiajournalclub@gmail.com for Zoom link.
Very happy to see this work finally published! 🎉 Exciting to see mechanobiology extending to the Golgi. Congratulations to the whole team, it was a pleasure to contribute to this study!
Bhaskar Naidu, Vera Lillo, Manneville, Miserey, @felixmendu.bsky.social et al. show that extracellular mechanical forces reciprocally regulate #Golgi function. The study reveals a feedback pathway by which Golgi export supports cell spreading and mechanoadaptation. rupress.org/jcb/article/...

Calling all #Membrane enthusiasts! Our #MembraneTrafficking online seminar series is back for the 2025-26 season: 8 fantastic speakers from Nov'25 to Feb'26. The first talks are already next Thursday (Nov 6, 5pm CET) with @agatawitkowska.bsky.social and @abdourachidthiam.bsky.social !
Big thanks to @ruoxiwang.bsky.social and @baehreckelab.bsky.social for this great highlight of our work — and of Peng et al.'s recently published in @jcb.org ! Atg9/ATG9A on the lysosome in 🪱 and 🤸. Still so much to uncover!
Ruoxi Wang & Eric Baehrecke discuss the conserved role of Atg9 in #lysosome repair in #Celegans and human cells, in the light of studies by Peng et al in JCB (rupress.org/jcb/article/...) & De Tito et al. in Developmental Cell (doi.org/10.1016/j.de...): rupress.org/jcb/article/...
