This government is still sitting on parts of a buried report laying bare catastrophic risks facing us from ecosystems collapse. My message to @andyburnham.bsky.social: tell the truth. Release the report in full. And prepare the country for what's coming. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

So pleased to see @zackpolanski.bsky.social demanding the Government’s suppressed then redacted report on ecosystem collapse be published in full. People can’t prepare for what they don’t know - concealing this report is unforgivable #WildSummit

Great work by Carla here drawing attention to the simple stuff that pisses people off. Paddling pool needs work doing? Well sort that out in April/May, don't do repairs in July. Broken escalators everywhere you go, bins overflowing. Just maintain the public realm, I'm not even saying upgrade!

The Mayor’s investment in listening to women and bringing in measures to keep all women and girls safe in public spaces is welcome. I hope his teams also listen to @lccwomensnetwork.bsky.social who have been campaigning against on street misogyny directed at women on bikes making everyday trips.

Books I’ve enjoyed this summer. All have a nice blue-ish hue and all brilliant in different ways. Has anyone else read any Anita Brookner? Hotel Du Lac came out in 1984 but I felt like it could have been written yesterday.

My thoughts on this are prob too deep for the local press - & hard to explain unless you've experienced it, but: there's something about cycling for transport that teaches respect for the world. For geography. The hills & river valleys, some of them lost. For the seasons, and how they've changed.

I’ve written a piece in the Ham and High about how we need to get on with tackling climate change by focusing on the solutions - like building safe routes for cycling. How we need to get on with it, and as Nike would say: Just Do It. After the summer we’ve … 1/5

“We took the children off the roads. In 1971, 80% of seven and eight year olds got to school on their own. By 1990 it was 9%, and the fall has not stopped: more children are driven than ever, and cycling to school still barely registers. We did not defeat the danger. We surrendered to it.”

A cycling city isn’t really about bikes. It’s a fairer city, built around people instead of cars. Riding across the alps with @carlafrancome.bsky.social and the wonderful team from Le Cure was incredible They started raising money for the Royal Marsden, who’d treated a friend for breast cancer. They raised so much, they now sponsor a research fellowship and have their own CA project. Amazing

Hi everyone, this whole climate change thing is a LOT isn’t it?! Everyone’s talking about it everywhere and it’s so hot. It’s great it’s being spoken about but it can feel quite overwhelming right? But today I had a breezy cycle and went through a beautiful tree canopy .. 1/7

Hi everyone! My campaigning has taken an unusual turn, and I rather urgently need a pantomime horse, and two people to go inside it 🐴🐴 Does anyone have any leads in this area? I can’t say too much, but it’s to make clear that a little bit of countryside in inner London … 1/4
