@highlandcyclists.bsky.social some fantastic rides. Callander is a brilliant place for any level. Loch Venachar, Strathyre... But getting there from Dunblane is interesting to say the least. Could do with markings and a dedicated route. Yes we rode down on the track
Just adding some stuff to the events section of our website - if anyone has bike events in the highlands they would like us to add (these also go in our newsletter) drop us a DM

All cyclists want is a safe, easy to use route along Millburn road.
Cairngorm wildfire which broke out yesterday near Ryvoan Bothy has spread to a width of 3.5km, prompting the evacuation of homes and businesses in Rothiemurchus Glenmore, the closure of the C7 ski road and restrictions on the A9.
UPDATE: A9 restricted in both directions due to drifting smoke as Cairngorm wildfire continues burning
The A9 is restricted in both directions south of Dalwhinnie due to drifting smoke — as a major wildfire continues to burn in the Cairngornms.

I’m in the local news again, being angry about @highland.gov.uk’s terrible changes to Millburn Road. www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/really-...
‘Really daft, and really dangerous’: cyclists voice anger at bike lane changes that rip a hole in Highland Council’s own masterplan
Highland Council is facing furore over a “daft and dangerous” decision to remove an important stretch of cycle lane near the city centre.

Cycle lanes should be Inclusive, not just for confident riders. Removing the eastgate cycle lane impacts adaptive and less able riders the most. (And if you have to get off and push its not actually cycle infrastructure)
One small joy in highland cycling - the Kilcoy road has been resurfaced - and is now smooth tarmac rather than 90% pothole 🖤 makes the redcastle loop lots nicer
If you can reverse a red card, you most certainly can reverse on street parking into a bike lane.

Our inbox is full of members concerned about the removal of the eastgate cycle lane in Inverness.
If anyone has photos/video of the Eastgate cycle lane before it's removal that we can use? Drop us a DM #Inverness #InvernessByBike
No idea what @highland.gov.uk are doing here but it does not IMO align with any of the stated objectives of their Active Travel Strategy
