"If our psyches are byzantine HVAC systems, mazes of half-mapped ducts and grates and dead-ends, then your favorite piece of pop culture can lead you to who you really are. For Kris, that guilty pleasure takes the form of a psychopath who also has an air vent—a literal conduit—for a head." -Sinacola

I have worked with a lot of critics who would just be like GILLIAN ANDERSON COVERED IN BLOOD but @sinacolad.bsky.social is like there's so much substance in Jane Schoebrun’s new film we don't even get to GILLIAN ANDERSON COVERED IN BLOOD www.portlandmercury.com/movies-and-t...

Writer-director Jane Schoebrun always balances high-concept metatextual fantasia with deeply tactile, impressionistic filmmaking. Their third fictional feature, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, is both a celebration and bloodletting of the slasher genre.

Here is me shooting my shot: I recently won a national award for my film criticism at the Portland Mercury, but I have never been asked to do an intro, or a Q&A, or write an essay for a physical media release, so I would like to state that I am shamelessly available for all of those things.

Some context regarding Moda Center renovations. The Trail Blazers $600 million request is larger than any recent/planned public contribution to an NBA/NHL arena renovation. It's not "market rate" or even reasonable. What Dundon is demanding is an outlier.

Dot plot showing the median public contribution to NBA renovations from 2025 and beyond is $338 million.
