It's been a while time to give #immunology @bsky.app another go...Thrilled to share work led by Dr Yuki Keith & colleagues @garvaninstitute.bsky.social, UNSW & Melanoma Institute Australia now out @jem.org. CD169+ macs in skin surround & constrain melanoma growth independent of T and B cells! 1/2

CSF1R-dependent CD169-positive macrophages locally constrain melanoma growth in the skin

Tissue-resident CSF1R-dependent CD169+ macrophages localize deep in the skin. They surround growing tumors and directly suppress their growth independent o

Our view of new (and old but re-formulated) determinants of myeloid biology in tumors is out in @jem.org! Amazing work from #marianogales #mariolamunarriz, #teresaaceña, & a fantastic editing process (thanks @gaiajexpmed.bsky.social). Hope you like it! #cancerimmunitylab @cniostopcancer.bsky.social

#Myeloid cells infiltrate tumors from early transformation to advanced disease; however, their plasticity complicates therapeutic targeting. Nogales-Pons et al. @casanova-acebes.bsky.social review emerging technologies that uncover unexpected cellular states & functions rupress.org/jem/article/...

A small primer on the #NobelPrize awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi today. This prize was for combining two separate fields of immunology research - genetic research on IPEX and immunology research of regulatory T cells (#Tregs), with enormous impact on biology/medicine

What a fantastic day to start the Immunobiology of #PRRs Symposium in beautiful Lausanne! Much looking forward to being part of an amazing line up of speakers, & to presenting a brand new story on a 100-year old protein whose function remains poorly understood! 😉

Quite proud of this labor of love! Humans are exposed to fungi, inhaling hundred/thousands of spores daily. Immunocompromised patients (chemo, transplant) are at risk for certain fungal infections. But, what about people who don't have these risk factors? This enigma has peppered the literature...

This review from @donvinh.bsky.social highlights the diversity in intrinsic fungal susceptibility across individuals and populations, through genetic- and autoantibody-mediated processes. rupress.org/jem/article/... 📘 In our Clinical #Immunology Collection: rupress.org/jem/collecti... #FOCIS2025
