#FaveLineFriday Dragging myself into actually writing was tough this week, but it was done! We finally have the beginnings of a chapter 2 for Beeslingers! 🎉 And it's starting off great for our new co-POV character, Jo. Bonus Q in the replies!

Beside her, Leiha, picture of elegance as she was, sighed heavily. Her cat ears flattened against her blue bob, and her long fingers traced along the edge of her glass, one claw ringing against the rim.

“Jo, please make an effort to stay civil for one afternoon,” she drawled. “And Miri. You’ll ruin that screwdriver if you stab her with it.”

Happy #FaveLineFriday! As always, share your favorite line you've worked on this week, and don't forget to interact with your fellow authors! Bonus Q: Forget DnD classes. Which Stardew Valley NPC are your MCs romancing and why? #writingprompts #writingcommunity #writesky

#MythAugust The First Queen is present in the average zizzun life in small ways. Her flowers are always present in a zizzun colony, and some zizzun wear jewelry modeled after these flowers for luck. (1/2)

#MythAugust 28 Today's question is about how the gods/spirits influence the lives of regular people - specifically, in mundane everyday kind of ways. Think of little things like idioms & swear words, clothing & accessories, small superstitious rituals, or locations everyone knows to avoid...

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 28:
How does the existence of gods/spirits influence peoples' everyday lives?

#Critterary When I say "zizzun do everything socially," I also mean "they engage in social grooming, like honey bees do." Sure, they take care of themselves as much as possible, but a highlight of the zizzun day is going to the bathhouse, chilling, and allogrooming together.

We're almost at the end of the month! Time to add in anything I might've missed, like some fun facts about your creature(s) that might've not applied to any other category? #Writing #WritingPrompts #Critterary

#Critterary 2: The New Batch (of prompts) - An August writing prompt game. Today's Theme: Additional Fun Facts! Anything else neat and interesting about your creature(s) that hasn’t been mentioned previously? Bottom Tagline: Celebration of all things creatures! Hosted by Serra Leta. Art is a long and lanky dragon, standing on its hind legs. Background is a fern-filled jungle.

Funnily enough, I have a spreadsheet where I dump random concepts! docs.google.com/spreadsheets... Suffice to say, more Lumina books. This is my Discworld, pretty much, only instead of a giant space turtle, it's bees.

Thursday #WritingQ What's Next? Ok, You've got your current WIP. You've got your side-project. You've got your recently shelved WIPs... But what's next on your plate? What's coming off the shelf and for what stage? What new thing will you be drafting after now? #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompt

#MythAugust Nothing direct. The First Queen is invoked for everything as a sort of "hey, Mom, look" thing or as a whole "thank you for this," but the zizzun understand the whole hands-off thing. She watches everything, though. Sometimes from the Endless Garden and sometimes close but unseen.

#MythAugust 27 During major life milestones & rites of passage (e.g. birth, coming of age, marriage, death, etc), how do your gods/spirits play a role? Are they invoked during a ceremony? Is their imagery part of the ritual? Do they require a sacrifice? *Do they ever show up in person??* 👀

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 27:
What role do your deities play during rites of passage/life milestones? E.g. birth, coming-of-age, marriage, death...?

#Critterary Like most luminites, the zizzun can use any of the twelve elements of magic. However, *unlike* most luminites, most zizzun are confined to just one element and cannot learn any others. The reason why depends on the caste. (1/?)

Alright, time to see what special abilities your creature(s) can perform! Can they do tricks unique to them? Maybe they know magic? Feel free to detail out how their powers work! #Writing #WritingPrompts #Critterary

#Critterary 2: The New Batch (of prompts) - An August writing prompt game. Today's Theme: Abilities/Magic! Can your creature(s) perform extraordinary abilities? Maybe it knows magic? What are their elements/powers? How strong are they? Bottom Tagline: Celebration of all things creatures! Hosted by Serra Leta. Art is a celestial-appearing red fox with a long main, leaping. Background is a fern-filled jungle.

#MythAugust Funnily enough, the zizzun never put much thought into initiation rites. Given how much effort baby zizzun have to exert to come into the world (they chew their way out of cells the way honey bees do), the zizzun feel it'd be excessive to add anything else to one's birth. (1/7)

#MythAugust 26 For someone who wants to follow one of your deities or become one of their priests, what sort of rites are required? Is there something like a baptism? Must they perform some difficult task? Do they receive any marks on their body or special clothes? Something else?

I think I gained 20 followers within the past 24 hours, so hello! It's delightful that you, too, hate AI! But that said, a few warnings: 1. Best way to get me to follow you is to like/reply/repost. I don't really follow back unless I like your profile. 2. Second best way: Unsolicited bee pics. (1/3)

#MythAugust Like prayers, zizzun holidays are often about gratitude and love. They're particularly big on holidays surrounding their agricultural cycle: festivals for planting, the growing seasons, harvest, surviving winter, and so on. Each comes with offerings for the First Queen. (1/?)

#MythAugust 25 Today is the day to talk about holidays! I'd recommend just picking one, but you're free to talk about multiple if you want 😊 What's the meaning of the holiday? When does it take place? How did it start? How is it usually celebrated? What connection does it have to the god(s)?

#MythAugust prompt for Aug 25:
Tell me about a holiday associated with your deities! How did it start? What occurs during this holiday?
