10/1/26 Chicagoland ICE activity update: Rapid responders reporting ICE in multiple Chicago neighborhoods and suburbs today, with detainments reported in Lakemoor and Joliet. ICE vehicles also seen today outside Cook County courthouses in Maywood and Chicago, incl. at the Domestic Violence court.

I love cats, I really do, and Mustard is clever and cute, but I do not appreciate that he has learned that the litter comes in bite-able plastic bags and that he can dispense his own dustbath at will 😡

Look at how much healthier he looks in that bottom photo! Hobbes is 16 now, which blows my mind, and he's been on treatment for his IBD for most of the last year. He's chonky* again!! *(he's a healthy weight and our vet is very pleased with his progress)

Here to tell you that the rabies PEP isn’t as horrific as popular culture would have you believe. It’s 4 rabies vaccines and 1 HRIG (human rabies immunoglobulin) injection, all of which are intramuscular. “8 huge, painful shots in your stomach” is mostly a myth, and outdated af (1/4)

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

Yeah, turn this off ASAP. Also important to note – each image they 'describe' uses an 'AI credit' from your plan, and if you run out of credits? They'll charge you for the extra ones they used without even asking you if you wanted them.

We really need to reframe how we talk about cats, especially from a care perspective in the veterinary & rescue world. Behaviors that people tend to label a cat “mean” for displaying come from fear, stress, or instinct. When we have empathy for cats & remove our human feelings, we do better by them.
