Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

A hand holding a model train with a replica of the same graffiti on the full scale train car behind it.A model train with two graffiti pieces on opposite sides.

This is NOT how we treat our neighbors. No one involved has been able to answer what "alternative housing" will be available for the people they are intentionally displacing in preparation for a Minnesota winter. Shelters are full, and not every shelter is suited for every person... Please help 💕💸

We need to buy 200 tent sets. St. Paul is evicting the biggest encampment in the city. Can you help by donating? People will lose everything. We have been offered access to warehouse space so we can order wholesale pallets of tents, sleeping bags, and tarps to meet needs following the eviction. To make this happen, we need to raise $15,000 by next week. Beginning Aug. 5, the city of St. Paul will start clearing ALL of its major homeless encampments on a rolling basis, beginning with Fish Hatchery Road/Pig's Eye Park. Here's why, and why some service providers say they're taken by surprise: www.twincities.com/2026/07/08/s...

A strategy I am recommending to people who don’t want to mask all the time is always in healthcare facilities and public transportation, AND if you see someone in a mask, put yours on. The first helps protect spaces high risk people may have no choice but to go, the second shows them support.

A classic anti-masker tactic is to claim that if you don't wear a mask 100% of the time, it isn't worth it. Untrue. Every single time you wear a mask, you reduce the chances for viruses to spread. Wearing a mask always improves public health, even if you only do it occasionally.

@suchnerve
“I don’t want to wear a mask all the time” Alright. Would you please wear it sometimes? Sometimes > never. Like just keep one in your bag, and put it on when you’re in an extra crowded place maybe?

‘One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." … She offered me $2600 to self-deport. I refused. I wanted to talk to my attorney. They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

…
25. This Cibola jail was horrible. It was cramped. I was chained up again.
The officers mocked
me and called me their enemy. They laughed at me. I was kept at the jail for what felt like around three hours. I wasn't given an explanation for why I was there.
26. Security
guards then put me on a bus. I think it was around January 27.
No one said
anything about where I was going. I was handcuffed. It felt like the middle of the night. It was freezing cold in the bus because the driver had the AC on. We had no jackets. The bus eventually took me back to El Paso in the carly morning of Tuesday, January 27th.
27. I was put in a cold cell where I had to sleep on the bare cement floor. Around 10 in the morning my cellmate asked to speak to an ICE officer. Three officers came into the cell so I had a chance to speak to them too. One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." She told me that if I fought my case, I would spend two to three more months here in El Paso. She offered me $2600 to self-deport. I refused. I wanted to talk to my attorney. They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota. If I hadn't managed to talk to my attorney who told me a while back that I was ordered released. I might have given up at this point and signed the self-deportation forms because the conditions were so unbearable.
…
30. When I was taken back to the detention center from the airport, after missing the flight, I overheard an ICE officer saying in English, "the judge in Minnesota wants this one back." I was put in a cold jail cell again until early next morning (January 28). But again no one had told me directly that a judge had ordered my release
…
32. When I arrived in Minneapolis, I was handed off to ICE
… I had to sign lots of papers saying that I wasn't going to be a part of any "groups." I didn't know what they meant by "groups." They never told me why I was detained

I just read the declaration that Kira Kelley asked J. Blackwell to consider. This immigrant describes being -unlawfully arrested -taken from one overcrowded & filthy prison to another over 19 days -held incommunicado & ICE never telling him a court ordered his release He describes an American gulag

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.

“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

A federal judge ordered the release of two Venezuelan men accused of assaulting a federal immigration officer last month outside a north Minneapolis duplex. But they never made it outside the St. Paul courthouse. ICE detained them again, without explanation, after the hearing.

Federal judge orders release of two men in ICE shooting charged with assaulting immigration agents

Defense attorneys cited photos in challenging the government’s account of when the agent fired a shot that wounded the fleeing suspect.

Remember the incident where DHS claimed officers shot a guy because he attacked them with a snow shovel? Yeah. It didn't happen. They shot him through the door of his own home. And then arrested him. And then lied about it. Again. And they almost shot some kids in the process.

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social · 9mo ago

They just blindly shot through the fucking door. "Additional photographs show damage consistent with a bullet fragment lodged in a bedroom wall down the hallway — suggesting it traveled between a mattress and a portable crib in a room where several small children sleep."
