Some are suggesting you deliberately write inaccurate or confusing alt text, because they say this confuses AI scrapers that are analyzing images. The purpose of alt text is to help people who cannot see the image. Deliberately misrepresenting the image is a gross misuse of alt text. Don't do it.

If you're an older or disabled NZ voter, please consider what ACT Party policies would mean for you. ACT plans to raise superannuation age by 3 months each year, cut disability benefits by $653M, pause contributions to NZ Super Fund, + cut support for migrants. #NZpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

The ACT Party's fiscal plan promises to cut debt and spending, raise the superannuation age by three months every year, and cut disability benefits by $653 million.

This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

Even without Kelvin waves I’d be avoiding coastal properties. If nothing else insurance companies and banks are keeping a close eye on climate change-related risks… Saw a reminder of this a couple of days ago - bsky.app/profile/notj...

An introduction to this can be read here: www.newsline.ccc.govt.nz/news/story/n... If you want all the details, they’re in this PDF: ccc.govt.nz/assets/Docum... The ToC gives a clue to one aspect – insurance and bank assessments are going to have a say in this ⬇️

Section 6 of the ToC reads,

"Insurance, banking and recovery funding may change"

including why insurance is changing, banks are actively considering climate risk, there’s no guarantee of Crown funding, what modelling show for private homes.

Drug testing has (by design) captured all the attention, but it's nowhere near the worst bit. For more than 30 years, benefit levels have been kept lower than the cost of staying alive. On purpose. Campaigning on the back of cutting them even further is monstrous. The cruelty is the point.

The majority of Kiwis will be better off with the Greens plan, but somehow everyone is panicking about “taxing the rich”. You’re not “the rich” they’re looking at. And if you are, an extra 2% tax on your wealth would hardly be noticed.

It’s the usual - the rich are trying to convince us that 1) it will apply to everyone (it won’t) 2) it will apply to your family home (it won’t) 3) we are all somehow property speculators and have multiple properties (1/3 of houses are owned by very few investors)
