Watching wealthy Americans posting about how we all need to declare a side in Team Library vs Team Bookstore is demoralizing. When the decline in literacy is literally costing us our country and our hopes for the future... How about we all get on Team I'd Rather Just See People Reading Whatever?

Legally, there isn't the slightest basis to the complaint, even on the most extreme possible interpretation of the Supreme Court judgement. A shop floor is not a single sex space, regardless of whether they sell bras or not. This is just hatred and spite, unleashed.

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.

JK Rowling tweeting got a boycott of M&S, stretching facts to the breaking point, and making the world a worse place for absolutely everyone.

Maybe...just maybe...getting tens of thousands of responses despite a ridiculously short two week window indicates that they should actually...read those responses?

Today, our capital proudly marks seven years of London Trans+ Pride. As trans rights come under increasing pressure across the UK, this year’s march is a vital reminder: London is a city that stands for equality, dignity and pride - for everyone. 🏳️‍⚧️

One thing social media has taught me (though I have definitely experienced it in other media too): a lot of people, even quite smart people, are worryingly bad at reading comprehension. For instance: many have trouble distinguishing between someone *describing* a thing and *advocating* that thing.

If you buy her products, this is what you fund. An actual hate movement based on misinformation and right wing substacks. A movement that any even slightly non-conforming woman is now literally in danger from. Actual lives are more important than your Hogwarts House.

This is something I don't understand. How can it be safe to prescribe puberty blockers to some groups of children, but not to others? I can understand if there was a specific issue (immune system, heart problems etc) but what is the reasoning beyond just "yeah not for trans kids"?
