"libraries and bookstores routinely destroy their own books as a normal part of operations" is a counterintuitive fact. kind of like how machine dishwashers use less water than handwashing. of course, an LLM would have told 404's writers that if they bothered to ask one before hitting "publish"

one of the horrendous patterns here is that children who have been raped sometimes exhibit sexualized behavior *because they are traumatized victims*. that was then used to justify their having been raped.

My mum was a community teacher, involved in giving evidence against a father who’d repeatedly raped his 9yo daughter who was at school mum worked at. In his closing remarks the judge said the 9yo girl ‘was no angel’ and gave him a suspended sentence. This was mid 80s.

when people online criticize me for using AI on an environmental point, i respond in ways like - go vegan and come back to me - don't own a car and come back to me - i'm disabled, i need this but then someone was actually vegan, carless, disabled, and anti-AI, so I kind of had to listen to them

i had to evict a roommate a few months ago because i found out she was in possession of illegal csam, the worst part was she was relying on me for emotional support through the eviction even though i, myself was a victim of child sex abuse

Yeah, so I basically received a pay cut today. My concern isn't how I'm going to make up that deficit, it's how insane I'm going to be in my personal life in order to squeeze out work productivity. Gonna have to start so many beefs with random people

sometimes i view my productivity system like a primordial soup where improvements just accidentally emerge and the only thing i can do when i have time is to tweak the environment so that the emergences happen more often
