Good to remember that you can’t pirate it either. I remember in the early seasons of Thrones seeing HBO use the piracy numbers to boost their claim that it was the biggest show on tv, something they’ll do again if it helps. Watch something for adults instead.

The push for Harry Potter the TV show is going to be completely enormous—they're debuting it on fucking Christmas—and it is the responsibility of TV critics to contextualize this as rewarding the world's most transphobic billionaire (which is saying something) in everything we write about it.

And every time you engage with this franchise, you signal to the industry that there's still money in it and they should keep pumping out content from full-cast audiobooks to book box partnerships.

I'm sleep deprived but at work but I need everyone to know where I stand, and with hope, have more people stand with me.

One would think that, with the GenAI pushback being an ongoing thing for years now, would give companies enough evidence that a majority of their paying and contributing userbase DO NOT WANT AI being trained off them, but alas it must be said again. Please give an option for creators to opt out ENTIRELY from GenAI models being trained off them, or better yet, do not train GenAI models off your users and content creators at all. GenAI will incur thousands of losses not only with creators moving platforms and losing a large number of income generation, but also with the cost of upkeeping these models. No future Twitch member will be able to trust a company that actively ignores the voices of its users and content creators, which is especially damning when your site RELIES on creators. If there are no streamers, there is no Twitch. Please, please reconsider your decision. Many people are angry, and with valid reasons. At least give us an opt out option. Show your creators that you aren't entirely tone deaf.

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
