This is so true. The law does not simply follow or reflect the values of the status quo, it can also lead and inspire the people to be better. They taught that in my first class at law college. But this takes visionary leadership coupled with grit, and not everyone is up to the task.

We have military conscription in Korea, so most Korean men are unimpressed by the sight of a military uniform (even or perhaps especially gays) so our instinct in seeing men in camos in public is not "Thank you for your service" but "Shouldn't you go home and change out of your smelly uniform"
