The idea that art and creativity is helped by needless misery and struggling is one of the most hard to kill stereotypes that western society has internalized. NOBODY is a better artist because they can't make rental payments and can only get food thanks to a local food bank.

You know what Burnham could do immediately, which wouldn't cost a penny, and would indicate he's vaguely progressive and not the moral coward his predecessor was? Ditch the inhumane EHRC guidance and KSIE regulations before they come into force and wreck trans lives.

You don’t have to be selfless all the time or burn yourself out but you should be kind and helpful and compassionate to the best of your ability. We need to care about each other more
