Also what problem would Gen AI, a *language model* solve in electrical power distribution? The "AI Terminology Halo Effect", where types of AI that have nothing to do with LLMs are used to make them appear to have capabilities they dont have is at work here.
I used to work for Duke Energy as a Smart Grid SCADA engineer and I can confidently say this is a stupid idea uttered by someone who knows nothing about NERC critical infrastructure protection.

The fact that this guy who quit anthropic “for ethical reasons” had an exclusive about it in the Wall Street journal should have been the big warning. Instead it was the sign to take it seriously! Good stuff everyone

I was watching this episode of NPR's Its Been A Minute about how R&B is trash now because now a lot of popular artist sing about being terrible to women. R&B used to be about grand and vivid displays of love and passion.
This “noticing” talking point comes out of white nationalist/neo-Nazi circles. Typically part of antisemitic conspiracy theories.

It is really this easy. Take any *cognitive capacity* X. For instance, X = reasoning, learning, communicating, summarizing, reading, writing, etc. If any one asks: Can an LLM do X? You can answer: “No, LLMs cannot do X, because X is a cognitive capacity and LLMs have none” LLMs are decoys.

i feel like we just need to admit to a lot of young people that our systems completely failed them. we let digital tools in the classroom and social media algorithms use them like lab rats and now half of them cannot have a basic, polite human interaction.
