my Daughter said something about a 'Champion' last night which then prompted a spontaneous rendition of the 'Champion, the Wonder Horse' theme from me, which then led to having to explain what 'Champion the Wonder Horse' was.... which inevitably led to me being called Old. of course.

Bluesky has deffo changed (for the better, I hasten to add) the things I repost/share. If you cant be arsed to add Alt text, then dont be surprised i cant be arsed to repost it, despite wanting to. I would think that in an inclusive community like Doctor Who we would do better.

I quite often see people bemoaning being blocked by strangers they've never interacted with, like they can't see your snotty comments and getting pissy with people we do know. Thats why you're blocked by strangers, your comments aren't private, you obnoxious prick.

If you want clinical composition, with all the humanity of a mannequin then sure. Great. But music is about human expression and communication across language and cultural barriers. I want to fall in love with bands and music, with all its flaws and mistakes, made by flawed humans please. Ta.

I'm sorry but this post is ridiculous. AI music is the next step towards musical inspiration. It could help with so many different ideas for songs, as well as making composing music be more accessible for those with the inability to do so. AI will be far better at composing music than humans anyway.

I found some glossy photographic printer paper at work and decided to try it out and, well, damn. I don't like to really toot my own horn, but I'm so chuffed, I've never had full size (A4) prints of my stuff before and I'm so happy with how they look 😍

Picture shows five prints of Doctor Who digital edits.
Top, l-r: 13th Doctor blended with a cyberman. 13th Doctor and a wheel in space cyberman.
Bottom l-r: picture inspired by I, Davros, 1st and 13th Doctors in the tardis, 1st Doctor surrounded by Daleks.

Fuck off with this shit. Look, I know Doctor Who is, well, Doctor Who. But this speaks to a broader problem which is essentially 'Fuck the arts and artists, they cost too much.' Which is some mealy mouthed bullshit, especially coming from an institution like the BBC. Ffs.

The BBC's new director general has described a 50-minute AI-generated episode of Doctor Who as "pretty good," and suggested that the technology now enabled the creation of content "at the standard of a Hollywood studio." https://bit.ly/4rD8rmh

Lovely Dan Pinn joins Jim and I as we head towards the tail end of the 80s now. And we are off with a bang, our first Dalek story since the Jodie era, and a pretty ground breaking one at that. Hang onto your hats (and question mark brollies) as we head to '63 via '88 in Remembrance of the Daleks! 💥

We are back - it's season 25 and we're talking all-things Daleks with the lovely Dan Pinn. This is where my fandom began. It's 1988, I'm six years old and it's parts one and two of Remembrance of the Daleks! @devondan.bsky.social @jeffgoddard.bsky.social anchor.fm/drwho-whats-...

Thanks to everyone who has listened, appeared, commented, liked and shared. In October the podcast will be 3 years old. It’s changed its format a bit (although I do intend to return to the old format at some point!) and I’ve gained a cohost in @jeffgoddard.bsky.social ! We’re not going anywhere. 🙂

Oooh, my amazing wife just aced an initial phone interview. She had to stop work after returning really quickly after Chemo and radiotherapy and was never fully recovered, physically or mentally. But after a year and half recovery and with times as tough as they are she's ready for PT work again.
