Mike Rogers just held a rally where he hugged Donald Trump, embraced him on stage. Did any of you hear about that? The media wants you to think that Rogers' association with the President is less relevant for the public to be informed about than Abdul El-Sayed's association with a Twitch streamer.

I think AES has it right. The media won’t be satisfied with self-flagellation or throwing people overboard. You have to point out that they’re pushing a story and are the ones who are indifferent to more pressing issues.

it is in fact just the media, which has devoted more attention to this than it has to the fact that multiple republican lawmakers are dealing with “we hired nazis” scandals and that the “we hired nazis” problem extends to the white house

There was like... a brief moment in time in 2024 when the press found out that Trump was spending a bunch of time with Laura Loomer and asking him to disavow her. But he just sort of shrugged it off and then the press completely forgot about it. This... seems way more obsessive.

IS GOD IS definitely lived up to the hype. A remarkably assured directorial debut and thoughtful spin on the revenge thriller with great performances across the board.
Most of these "moderate" outlets alternative between "Sister Soulja moment" stories about the radicals who Democrats need to distance themselves from and glowing portraits of white nationalists who are trying to go mainstream by softening their rhetoric slightly. It makes what they're doing obvious.

I've been revisiting my 2021 book How to Argue With a Racist, in light of the Cofnas situation - i didn't name him or the scientifically illiterati with who he breaks bread. But I thought these sections from the end might be of interest.
