Small wonder so many women recognise something of their own lives in the tradwife story

I love when people come over to Bluesky to beg us to fight with them on X again. You lost! We’re not playing with you anymore!
I get to do talks in some lovely venues and the Great Hall in Queens, Belfast is up there among them - we were also provided with the obligatory, restorative bourbon cream - however, instead of awful conference coffee, we can have some lovey iced peach tea 🫖
Another beautiful morning - enroute to Belfast, which seems to be the place to be these days. Really excited to do this keynote today and hear papers from other researchers in gender and sexuality research. So much work now being done in this area

This is misogyny and anti-disability discrimination on par with old-timey doctors claiming women are prone to ‘hysteria’ and the vapours. It is unacceptable seeing this in any newspaper. UK philosophers should loudly condemn it as a whole, since it is authored by an ex-colleague. It is wrong
Gender studies might be the most vindicated academic field of all time
Really? Because I keep seeing them in charge of everything from car dealerships to the White House, and they seem to doing just fine despite their obvious handicaps.
How women in the Irish music/comedy/arts/entertainment industry in general don't go completely insane is beyond me. Same issues over and over and over. How many have been subtly, quietly pushed out or felt they had no choice but to abandon careers. How much talent have we silently lost.

Jack Chambers wants you to believe that the Climate Act of 2021 is the reason for decades of poor infrastructure delivery and not the decisions of decades of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael governments
What could we cut back on as the world literally burns?🤔

Ah hear, the dating and naming of faux old Irish pubs has gone to a new low on Baggot St., with Sally McLennane’s, supposedly founded in 1862 - that’s the McLennane’s of Mayo I presume. (I know it’s a Pogues song, but still!) it will annoy me everyday as I pass on the way to UCD … sigh 😞
Rainforest isn't the only important species habitat here on the farm, far from it. This wildflower meadow is in a field by the house (traditionally named 'Glan'). Glan was previously severely overgrazed, but is now ever more biodiverse, full of flowers and invertebrates like butterflies.
