Cumbria, but not anymore. Migrated further up the map. Ex NHS lead apron model, now sit behind a cavity magnetron. Ish. Explains my radiant personality, I suppose. 3 months younger than Bagpuss. ☎️01 811 8055 #IC276

We're in a holiday cottage. The TV is buggered, there are no board games, no books, NO CAFETIERE, and there are disco chickens bellowing at one another somewhere close by. The parking requires a crowbar, and the heating in the bedrooms doesn't work. On balance, still better than being at home.

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

An aircraft passenger oxygen mask: a drop down passenger mask with air bag and yellow plastic mouth and nose cover, oxygen tube has been cut; Demonstration model used by flight attendant crew for passenger instruction. Has text on the side indicating that it's non-functional.

1989: Margaret Thatcher, "Water privatisation I believe will go very successfully indeed. It will go very successfully indeed" 2026: BBC News, "Both terminals at the UK's second busiest airport, Gatwick, are without running water.. Toilets can't be flushed"

A mate of mine insists the metal tool with a curved blade, traditionally used in coppice and hedgerow management is called a scythe, but I think he's talking billhooks.

Since spring we’ve been warned of wild fires in the Cairngorms. FIRMS suggests that overnight the size of the fire has grown considerably and getting closer to Glenmore. No wonder the (always fully booked) campsite was evacuated. Hope everyone is safe.

18 years ago, almost to the day, I started building a preposterously big garage. I insisted that there should be a space above it large enough for habitation. The time has now come for that space to be converted into a flat for one of the kids. Hence why I have to finish the kitchen in the house

Looks like there's no getting away from it. Tomorrow is my last day off, and I'm going to have to finish the kitchen. (To my wife's standard of what constitutes finished, not mine. The cooker works, the fridge works, most of the crockery is out of sight..)

Meanwhile, don't take it out on your partner, your pets, or patio furniture. Go to bed, it'll still be shit in the morning, but you won't be on bail.
