My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). Dang, Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave wants to tell a HUGE multi-threaded story that's BOTH High Fantasy and Science Fiction, but it doesn't have the movie's-worth of cutscenes toolset a Final Fantasy would have, so it constructs it out of a swiss army knife of every other game mode it can put in play.

Only 100 functioning Silent Hill: Townfall CRTVs were made, sent out to different influencers before the games release, and someone's already selling theirs for over $300 😬 It's a cute toy, but savage to be like "I do not need it".

Got Star Fox from the library. It’s still the same game as 64, as great as that was, which is why I didn’t just buy it. I was still compelled to finally, for the first time, to get all medals. Also finished the lower route on Expert. You can’t get me to try Aquas on Expert though. Won’t do it.

And that's my first run through Star Fox! Great game. The little cinematics are a fun touch.

ultimately it's about how nostalgia is inherently fascist in nature and how you can only move into a better future by rejecting the idea of the "good old days" but it ruins the message by saying only the fascist white guy gets to have any real agency

...realised world that you progress in by gaining new skills and abilities through weaponry and items...ala Zelda and Metroid. Raiders is a looter shooter with a great gameplay loop/hook, but that's about it for me. I'm enjoying the cutscenes mostly.

My real move is to bring an iced coffee and set it on the table exactly halfway between us, so they spend the whole interview wondering whether I brought it for them or for myself, and if they’re being horribly rude by not drinking it or about to embarrass themselves by drinking my drink.

I would never bring an iced coffee to a job interview, because then I would be showing my weakness and how to destroy me by revealing I must regularly imbibe water-based liquids to survive. I have definitely read and understood Machiavelli.
